I will secretly admit I watch The View. At least two or three times a week. The only person I like on there is Meredith. Star and Joy are bitchy and catty beyond belief sometimes and if Elizabeth didn't have that job, she'd be a soccer mom living in some cookie-cutter yuppieville suburb, driving a Suburban (although I would love a car like that) talking about scrap-booking parties and why she voted for Bush (because DUH, he's a born-again Christian!!!!!!!!). Barbara floats above everyone else in the very rarified world of Park Avenue dinner parties with ex-presidents and billionaires.

Meredith's life is the most like I'd like to have. She's married to a writer. She's got kids, and an old house they just spent a whole year renovating. That must be why I like her. I have kids. I have an old house that really NEEDS RENOVATING. My boyfriend isn't a writer (or a reader or a speller) but that's all right. He doesn't want or need the Elizabeth yuppieville life-style either, and that's just one more compelling reason to love him and know that he's the MAN FOR ME.
